As a beginner or a seasoned OG, getting positioned to receive airdrops can be a problem that\u2019s why you hear people saying airdrops are dead. They really are not. Projects will keep rewarding their earliest users, the only thing that will change or is changing is the mode the use in determining who is eligible or how to identify their earliest users. Now it is up to you as an airdrop hunter to find those methods and position properly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a time when all you needed to do is just register an email and you\u2019re rewarded as an early user. The waitlist era. There was a time when it required just few transactions on testnet and you\u2019re rewarded. The testnet era. And it goes on. The meta keeps changing and to be honest it starts looking like it\u2019s impossible but no. The System just got serious and people are panicking. Stay with me\u2026.
People noticed that just reposting and following and writing few tweets about a project, clicking testnets, grinding on discords is no longer enough and they panicked. But that\u2019s not why we are here, how can we beat the odds and stay positioned?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is OG and Beginner friendly mate, stay put.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Build a \u201cMain Identity Wallet\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use one serious wallet as your flagship ship as a beginner.
If you are an OG, you chose a steady wallet. The era of multiple wallet farming is gone, this is 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This wallet should:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Have transaction history\n\u2022 Hold some real assets\n\u2022 Use dApps naturally\n\u2022 Bridge occasionally\n\u2022 Vote when possible\n\u2022 Join communities linked to protocols<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Projects increasingly reward believable users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do not look like a transaction bot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Focus on Fresh Ecosystems, Not Dead Narratives. In other words, DYOR (do your own research)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look for chains\/ecosystems that are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 New mainnets (if you have liquidity) or New testnets (if you need a 0$ participation)
\u2022 Strong funding rounds (amount raised from investors)
\u2022 Growing TVL (total value locked) [what is TVL?]<\/a>
\u2022 No token yet. You need to be early enough to take part in TGE (Token generation event)
\u2022 Active users but not overcrowded.. but make sure to be prepared to miss out on good drops you thought were over populated. If you can, do everything that is not scam. [How to identify scam projects?]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 New L2 \/ L3 ecosystems\n\u2022 Modular chains\n\u2022 AI x Crypto tooling\n\u2022 Privacy infrastructure (zero knowledge protocols)\n\u2022 Consumer crypto apps\n\u2022 DeFi with no token\n\u2022 Restaking \/ yield layers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Farm your Behavior, Not Transactions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Think of your wallet as a citizen, not a spam gun<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a bad strategy to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Swap $1 twenty times in one hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if the project has a discord community, give your feedback on how the dApp you are testing is. Proper feedback and if you find a bug, report it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Become a Cross-Pollinated User<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protocols love users who came from elsewhere
Make friends from everywhere you can. Connect with web3 enthusiasts on X and lend your voice. You can grind alone and still lend your voice anonymously; That\u2019s the essence of web3<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Multiple chains\n\u2022 Wallets\n\u2022 Bridges\n\u2022 Messaging layers\n\u2022 DeFi aggregators<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes Being visible across ecosystems can matter more than raw volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now if you do all these, you\u2019ll be surprised how many airdrops you\u2019ll be eligible for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
